Resources & Links

Everything below is free. In rough order of importance for you.

The essentials

ResourceWhat it is
STEP Support Programme Cambridge's own free preparation course: Foundation modules (start here), then STEP 2 and STEP 3 modules, each with assignments, hints and full solutions. This is your main external companion — the roadmap is built around it.
STEP Questions Database Searchable database of past STEP questions (1980s–2018) filterable by paper and topic — the tool for topic-by-topic practice in Phase C. (Also at stepdatabase.maths.org.)
OCR — STEP Mathematics The official page: current specification (read it once, early), recent past papers with examiner reports and mark schemes, dates, fees, registration and test-centre information.
Advanced Problems in Mathematics — Stephen Siklos The classic STEP book — dozens of past problems with full discussion and solutions, free as a PDF (linked from this page; published open-access by Open Book Publishers). Superb for Phase B onwards.
Worked STEP papers Videos and write-ups of complete recent papers being solved, from the STEP Support Programme.

Solutions and community

ResourceWhat it is
Physics & Maths Tutor Free A-level and Further Maths notes/exercises by topic (useful alongside the bridge lessons), plus a STEP section with papers and solutions.
The Student Room — STEP threads Community solution threads exist for almost every STEP paper ever set (search "STEP III 2017 solutions"). Also the annual "STEP Prep Thread" — other candidates to suffer alongside.
step-resources (GitHub) A community-collated central repository of freely available STEP prep material.
Cambridge Maths — STEP page Cambridge's own explanation of how STEP fits into offers, with advice for candidates.
Underground Mathematics Cambridge-built rich problems on A-level topics, including selected STEP questions with fully worked, explained solutions — great in Phases A–B.

For the A-level content itself

The bridge course here is self-contained, but if you want a second explanation of any topic, search the topic name plus "A level Further Maths" — the Physics & Maths Tutor notes and any CGP/Pearson Further Mathematics textbook cover the same ground. YouTube channels worth knowing: TLMaths (systematic A-level + Further coverage) and blackpenredpen (integration technique drills).

Link rot warning The STEP ecosystem reorganises every few years (administration moved from Cambridge Assessment to OCR in 2024). If a link above dies, the search terms "STEP support programme", "STEP question database" and "OCR STEP mathematics" will find the new homes.
